END OF JANUARY - that's my mantra. By the end of next week I will have a draft of my dissertation to my dissertation chair. I'm working on it now - late at work every night.

Over the holidays I read _The Mystery of Capital_ by Hernando de Soto. Great book. Sometime, in a future blog, I need to follow the thought process I went through while reading the book. I think de Soto will be up for a Nobel in 25 years.

I work for a large manufacutring company (I'll call it MWM). In this company I've been engaged for the past several years developing "learning applications." Once I get the dissertation finished (END OF JANUARY) I'll start writing more about my experience.

Just a teaser... the first article will be titled something like, "Knowledge Management gets sued" or "Why corporations seem to forget everything they know". MWM just implemented a progrom (I mean program) to ensure that it can forget everything it knew should the need arise (read: lawsuit). Developing a learning application in such an environment is really interesting (read: how do you share knowledge when you have to be ready to flush everything at a moment's notice).

Organizations know how to share knowledge. There are plenty of technologies available. What they don't know how to do is share and forget. More later.
